Do we inherit some of our parents zodiac sign traits?

Certain chart patterns have played out over and over in the same families. Also the same with signs and elements. For example my mother, my sister, and I all have Capricorn Moons. Cap and Scorp show up predominately in my father and my chart. Me and my father both have our Moon and Neptune in the same house. We both have Mercury conjunctions. ect. Also my boyfriends family has an unusual amount of Aries.
